Malaysia-based fintech Jirnexu has raised a $10 million Series B extension round led by Experian, and including existing investor SBI Group

This adds to the firm’s $11 million Series B round in May. Jirnexu owns financial comparison website RinggitPlus in Malaysia and KreditGoGo in Indonesia

It was recently granted approval to expand its regulatory sandbox operations, which allowed it to offer five new types of insurance, including motor, travel, and medical and health on RinggitPlus. The funding will be used to personalize recommendations for customers and match them with financial products more accurately, which will improve access to credit for consumers, for example. Additionally, Jirnexu wants to broaden its services and fintech solution portfolio with the help of the fresh capital. Seventy-three percent of Southeast Asia’s population doesn’t have a bank account, which means Jirnexu likely has a large addressable market to target.
